Victoria Simmons

Victoria SimmonsI am a first year Master's student, studying Geography with an emphasis on Paleo-Ecology. My research concentrates on using pollen and charcoal sediment to reconstruct fire and vegetation regimes of Western Utah, and to elucidate climate and environments of the past. I am also researching Paleo-Indian people's influence and occupation of this area.

In the fall of 2014 I received a B.S. in Geography and a B.S. in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. As an undergraduate student I had the opportunity to do research on past climate reconstructions, focusing primarily on sagebrush fire history.

I have spent most of my life in Salt Lake City and when I am not working or studying I like to take adventures around the great state of Utah. Besides traveling I also enjoy the local music and art scene and hanging out with my rabbit.
