As of July 1, Dr. Andrea Brunelle completed her term as chair of the Department of Geography. Andrea led the department for a dynamic six years. Under her leadership, the department moved to temporary space and then to a new building, and hired Summer Rupper, Andrew Linke, McKenzie Skiles, Tim Collins, and most recently, Alexander Hohl. At least two of these hires were possible due to Andrea's efforts leading the Society, Water, and Climate transformative excellence cluster. As she stepped down as chair, Andrea had the following message for her colleagues: "Thank you all so much for the honor and privilege of serving as your department chair for the last 6 years. I appreciate your patience with me as we’ve navigated our way through many opportunities and challenges. I’m excited to see what unfolds with our new chapter of leadership and again offer a deep expression of gratitude for the opportunity to lead and serve." Dr. Philip Dennison is the new department chair.
