Philip Dennison Discusses Fire Trends Project

U Geography faculty member Philip Dennison was interviewed for a NASA news article on the Monitoring Trends in Burn Severity (MTBS) project. The project, a collaboration of the Forest Service and USGS, uses Landsat satellite data to map the extent and severity of all fires larger than 1000 acres in the Western US and larger than 500 acres in the Eastern US. MTBS is a product of the Remote Sensing Applications Center, where a large number of Geography alumni work.
